With summer already in full swing, I’m already wishing it could last all year long.

Not to start off this post looking at the glass half empty or anything, but realistically there are only so many weekends during the summer that are left and it’s a reminder that I want to make the very most of them.  To add a twist to this, Vince works almost every weekend – in fact, the summer can be the most difficult time of the year for us since we’re on opposite schedules almost every day of the week.  So you can imagine that we have to make the most of our time together on the days that he has off.

Last year was the first time I ever created a summer ‘bucket list’ and I loved having it to remind me of all the fun things I wanted to do and try throughout the summer.  This year is a bit different because I’m entering the third decade of my life (!!) and so I think this summer will be special no matter what, but it’s still exciting to jot down everything I’m really wanting to do.  So in no particular order, here it is, my summer wish list:

1.  Take a day trip to Niagara-on-the-lake and have my first wine tour

So happy to say that we accomplished this on my 30th Birthday!

2.  Have picnics with Vince (my favourite) – our first picnic was at NOTL.

3.  Rollerblade across the Toronto Islands with Vince for the third year in a row (the ONLY times I’ve ever rollerbladed)

4.  Hit up lots of food truck events  I did get to a couple including AWEStruck – the Ontario food truck awards!

5.  See an outdoor movie

6.  Visit a food festival  Although I didn’t get the chance to blog about it, I did visit Toronto’s famous Taste of the Danforth and the Hot and Spicy Food Festival at Harbourfront.

7.  Eat dinner in New York City For our NYC eats, including dinner, see Part 1 and Part 2 of our trip!

8.  Bike ride along the Don Valley and then visit the Farmers Market at the Evergreen Brickworks  Technically we accomplished this before summer ended (and I’m sticking to that story!).

9.  Swim and sunbathe at the beach at the Pinery Provincial Park  Vince and I took our annual trip with my dad in August and the beach was just as beautiful.

10.  Celebrate the big 3-0 with my most cherished friends and family!!

THE best time celebrating my 30th with all the people I love most in this world!

I may have already accomplished one of my summer/before 30 bucket list items – getting my second tattoo!  More on that in another post 😉

Even just sharing this wish list with all of you is making me really excited about it!  Perhaps I may have even alluded to a few things that Vince and I already have planned throughout the summer 🙂

Do you create summer bucket lists?  Care to share some of your summer wishes?
